Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

Jazz Diggs is an editorial publication about jazz and improvised music. We collect as little personal information as possible. This page explains what we do collect, why, and your rights regarding it.

Information we collect

We do not require accounts and do not collect personal information directly from visitors browsing articles.

Our hosting provider (Netlify) collects standard web-server access logs — IP addresses, browser type, request paths, and timestamps — for security, bandwidth measurement, and abuse prevention. We use Netlify Analytics, which derives aggregate visitor counts from these server logs without cookies, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking.

If you contact us by email, we receive the contents of that message and your email address. We retain correspondence only as long as needed to respond and follow up on any factual corrections.

RSS feed

Our RSS feed at /rss.xml is a public file. We do not track who subscribes or what they read — your feed reader contacts our server directly and we see only the same kind of standard access log we receive for any visitor.

Cookies

Jazz Diggs does not set tracking cookies. Any cookies set by your browser while reading the site come from third-party content embedded in articles (for example, a YouTube video or a Spotify embed) and are governed by that third party's privacy policy.

Third-party content

Articles may embed media or link to external sites — record labels, streaming services, archival video, artist sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. When you click an outbound link, that site's policies apply.

Your rights

Under GDPR (if you are in the EU/EEA) and CCPA (if you are in California), you have rights to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you. Because we collect almost nothing — only what you actively send us by email — in most cases this means asking us to delete any correspondence we have with you. Contact us at the address below to make a request.

Changes

If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top.
